Job Summary
- Provide direct patient care in the Emergency Department using the nursing process.
- Ensure safe, effective, patient-centered, timely, efficient, and equitable care.
- Assess, plan, implement, evaluate, and document individual patient needs and responses.
- Collaborate with patients, families, and healthcare team members to coordinate care.
- Administer medications and treatments as prescribed or per protocols.
- Identify and address patient and family learning and discharge needs.
- Supervise LPNs and non-licensed assistive personnel clinically.
- Complete patient population/age-specific education and competency testing per unit standards.
- Floating between departments and local locations within 20 miles is required.
Required Qualifications
Experience
- Minimum 2 years of current experience in a large Emergency Department, including experience within the last year.
- At least 13 weeks of total travel experience in nursing.
Education
- Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) required.
Certifications & Licensure
- Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in New Mexico.
- BLS, ACLS, PALS, and NIHSS certifications required.
- BLS, ACLS, and PALS must be issued by the American Heart Association or American Red Cross.
