Registered Nurse - Labor & Delivery

Location: Brighton, Colorado
Contract Length: 13 weeks

Job Summary

• Perform independent nursing and delegated medical functions according to state Board of Nursing standards.
• Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate nursing care.
• Continuously evaluate patient health status through data collection and assessment.
• Provide health teaching and counseling.
• Deliver supportive and restorative therapy and treatment directly or through consultation, delegation, supervision, or teaching.
• Execute delegated medical functions and refer patients for further evaluation or treatment as needed.
• Review and monitor therapy and treatment plans.
• Document care in compliance with hospital and regulatory guidelines.
• Utilize resources effectively.
• May float to other departments within scope of competency.
• May be required to be on-call during scheduled shifts.

Required Qualifications

• Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of Colorado.
• Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing from an accredited School of Nursing.
• Minimum of 1 year of Labor and Delivery nursing experience, with experience within the last year.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification issued by the American Heart Association.
• Advanced certification such as Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS), Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP), or Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) issued by the American Heart Association.

Preferred Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN).
• Certification relevant to Labor & Delivery unit or service.

Additional Information

• May be required to float to other departments based on business needs.
• May be required to be on-call during regularly scheduled shifts.
