Job Summary
Perform ultrasound examinations under physician direction to identify abnormalities for patient diagnosis, providing excellent customer service.
Job Responsibilities
- Verify patient identity and orders; prepare patients for exams.
- Use proper imaging techniques to ensure timely, safe, and high-quality diagnostic exams.
- Perform exams on all patient age groups (neonates to geriatrics) following ACR guidelines.
- Demonstrate proficiency with all clinical equipment in the department.
- Complete and annotate medically acceptable exams maximizing diagnostic information efficiently.
- Follow protocols for medical necessity, coding, charging, consents, documentation, and quality control.
- Maintain safety practices including body substance protection, equipment cleaning, sterile techniques, and material expiration checks.
- Accurately complete all required documentation, including time stamps and image storage.
Shift Details
- Night shift, 4 days per week (Tuesday-Friday)
- 10-hour shifts (8:00 PM to 6:00 AM)
- 40 hours per week
Required Qualifications
- Minimum 1 year of ultrasound technologist experience within the last year
- Certification: ARRT (RT) or ARDMS Registry (must include one registry relevant to the department beyond physics, such as OB, abdominal, neuro, breast, or vascular)
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification issued by the American Heart Association for healthcare providers
