Registered Dietician

Job Overview

Acute allied health role in Bronx, New York
14-week contract
35 hours per week
Day shift: 8:30am–4:30pm
Weekends and holidays are required, typically 1–2 weekends per month

Role Summary

Screens and assesses patients’ nutritional needs and status
Interviews patients and/or families about food habits and preferences
Interprets laboratory, physical, and social data for nutrition care
Provides nutrition education and documents diet instructions and patient understanding
Monitors food/drug interactions and consults with physicians on diet modification
Modifies patient menus as needed

Required Qualifications

RDN - Registered Dietitian Nutritionist (2 years of experience)
RDN - Registered Dietitian Nutritionist experience within the last year
CDR
Bachelor's degree in Dietetics or Foods and Nutrition
Experience in a(n) Inpatient setting
Malnutrition Diagnosis experience
Critical Illness experience
Diabetes Medication management experience
Nutrition Support Specialist experience

Preferred Qualifications

3 or more years of experience
Master’s degree
Certified Diabetes Care and Education Specialist or Certified Nutrition Support Clinician
AHA BLS
