Medical Lab Tech
Location: Louisville, Kentucky
Employment Type: Clinical-Allied
Shift: Night (9:00 PM – 9:30 AM, Friday through Sunday)
Hours: 12 hours per day, 36 hours per week
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Job Summary
Perform and interpret clinical laboratory tests independently to assist physician diagnosis and treatment. Testing includes both high and moderate complexity. Ensure specimen evaluation meets pre-analytical requirements.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform clinical laboratory testing (high and moderate complexity)
- Evaluate specimens for pre-analytical quality
- Communicate critical test results, test interpretations, and workflow status
- Conduct quality management activities including quality control, instrument maintenance, and troubleshooting
- Maintain reagent and supply inventory levels
- Document work performed and corrective actions
- Train new employees and students
Required Qualifications
- Medical Laboratory Technician (MLT) or Medical Laboratory Scientist (MLS/MT) certification
- Minimum 2 years of Medical Lab Technician experience, including experience within the last year
- Bachelor's degree in biology or other laboratory science
- Experience in an inpatient hospital setting
