Job Description

• Perform mammograms and bone density exams daily under approved policies and Radiation Practice Standards (ACR, MQSA).
• Assist Radiologist with needle localization, stereotactic biopsy, and galactogram after training and competency demonstration.
• Obtain/review patient medical history and physician orders before studies; explain procedures and complete documentation.
• Select appropriate technical factors and operate equipment following Radiation Safety Practices.
• Prepare completed mammograms and other studies for interpretation promptly with proper identification and documentation.
• Perform or assist with Quality Assurance activities related to mammography and bone density (including Hologic Selenia and AGFA Printer).
• Report patient condition changes to Lead Technologist or Radiologist; assist with emergency medical treatment under physician direction.
• Assist with scheduling patient exams.
• Attend department meetings and in-services regularly.
• Work closely with Lead Mammography Technologist to meet MQSA standards.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
• All travelers will perform screening and diagnostic mammograms and should be able to perform DEXA exams.
• Recent (6-12 months) Epic experience preferred.

Required Qualifications

• Minimum 1 year of experience as a licensed Mammography Technologist (preferred).
• Current California State License – Mammographic Radiologic Technologist (CRT (R) (M)).
• ARRT (M) Certification with documentation of original certification date.
• Completion of initial 40 hours of training, 25 supervised exams, 8 hours modality training in Tomosynthesis, and 8 hours modality training in digital mammography.
• Continuing education: 15 CEUs within 36 months.
• Completion of 200 mammograms within 24 months.
• Bone Density experience preferred.
• BLS/Healthcare Provider certification per American Heart Association standards.

• Prior travel experience is not explicitly required.
• This role involves both screening and diagnostic mammography as well as DEXA exams.
