PACU Registered Nurse

Location

Wausau, Wisconsin

Contract

Travel assignment
13 weeks
40 hours per week
Start: ASAP

Schedule

Variable 4x10 shifts with start times of 7:30 AM, 8:00 AM, or 9:00 AM
Weekends: every 5th weekend on call
Holiday rotation
On call: one night per week for 4 weeks out of a 6-week schedule, plus every 5th weekend
30-minute response time for call
Call shift starts at 11:00 AM
May be placed on call during low census
2-hour minimum for call back

1:2 patient ratio
About 35 patients per day

Required Qualifications

Valid RN license in Wisconsin
PACU - Post Anesthesia Care (2 years of experience)
PACU - Post Anesthesia Care experience within the last year
BLS issued by American Heart Association
ACLS
PALS
Associate of Science in Nursing / Associate Degree in Nursing

Preferred Qualifications

Epic experience
If no Epic experience, previous electronic charting experience is required

Clinical Scope

Primary cases include general, spine and neuro, GI, ENT, cardiac, PV, and ortho
Stabilizes ICU patients before transfer to the ICU

Additional Notes

Scrubs: any color
36 hours of low-census unbillable hours are eligible
During flu season, travelers who decline flu and COVID vaccination must wear a mask at all times
