Histology Tech

Location: Mason City, Iowa
Employment Type: Long-Term Assignment (13 weeks)
Shift: Monday - Friday, 5:00 AM - 1:30 PM

Job Description

• Work schedule: Monday through Friday, 5:00 AM to 1:30 PM (alternative shift 6:00 AM to 2:30 PM possible)
• Experience with Epic electronic health record system preferred

Required Qualifications

• Minimum of 1 year of experience as a Histology Technologist, with experience within the last year
• Experience with Epic electronic health record system
• Must complete specialty-specific competency testing within the last year

Onboarding and Compliance Requirements

Candidates must provide and maintain the following documentation and clearances prior to start:

Health and Immunization

• Fit Test
• COVID-19 vaccine proof (including booster by September 2025) or approved exemption/declination (declination not accepted in CA or IL)
• MMR: Proof of 2 vaccinations or IgG titer lab report
• Hepatitis B: Must have started vaccination series prior to start; titers not accepted
• Influenza vaccine (optional) with proof or declination/exemption
• 2-Step PPD or IGRA (Quantiferon/Tspot) test; if positive, chest x-ray per regional requirements
• Varicella: Proof of vaccination or IgG titer lab report
• Tdap vaccine: Current and non-expired; declination accepted if no pediatric interaction
• Physical/Health Statement confirming fitness to work (exam within last year)

Drug Screening

• 10-panel drug screen completed within 30 days of start (including methadone, cocaine, amphetamines, opiates, benzodiazepines, barbiturates, PCP, and others); no THC allowed

Professional and Background Checks

• Signed Code of Conduct, Confidentiality Agreement, Conflict of Interest Disclosure, Integrity and Audit Services Form, Non-Employee Upload Form
• Criminal background check (federal, nationwide, county for last 7 years), including SSN verification, dated within 30 days of start
• Education verification of highest academic degree or diploma/GED
• EPLS (Excluded Parties List System) and OIG (Office of Inspector General) checks dated within 30 days
• NSO (National Sex Offender) check dated within 30 days; includes aliases and statewide checks for Iowa
• Child and Adult Dependent Abuse Training (Iowa only)
• Iowa Sing Report: Criminal History, Sex Offender, Dependent Adult & Child Abuse Registries check within 30 days prior to start
• OFAC (Office of Foreign Assets Control) sanctions screening within 30 days of start

Testing and Skills Verification

• Specialty-specific competency testing completed within the last year
• Joint Commission CORE exam within the last year
• Skills checklist provided and completed by agency for clinical contractors

System Access

• System Access Form must be completed and uploaded one week before start

Additional Notes

• Resume, skills checklist (within one year), and two professional references required for submission
• All documentation must be uploaded into the vendor management system prior to onboarding
