Job Opportunity: Mammography Technician
Location: Marble Falls, Texas
Employment Type: Long-Term Assignment (LTA)
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Job Summary
- Provide mammography imaging services.
- Operate mammography equipment and perform related procedures.
- Prepare and position patients accurately, selecting appropriate anatomic and technical parameters.
- Educate patients on the importance of regular mammography for preventive breast health.
- Develop and evaluate films for technical quality (density, contrast, definition, distortion).
- Follow radiation safety procedures and guidelines.
- Ensure timely submission of high-quality images and documentation to PACS.
- Monitor equipment functionality and report malfunctions.
- Maintain cleanliness and orderliness of the department and procedure areas.
- Work independently with critical thinking and sound judgment in a potentially stressful environment.
- Use personal protective equipment following standard precautions.
Required Qualifications
Licensure / Certification
- BLS Provider (American Heart Association or American Red Cross), to be obtained within 30 days of hire.
- Radiologic Technologist credential specializing in Radiology from the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT), obtained prior to hire.
- Completion of a federally approved 40-hour mammography training course within 90 days of hire.
- Completion of 25 supervised mammography studies to meet Texas Department of State Health Services (TDSHS) requirements.
- Radiologic Technologist credential specializing in General Practice from the Texas Medical Radiologic Technologist Certification Program, obtained prior to hire.
Preferred Credentials
- ARRT credential specializing in Mammography.

Personal Health & Safety Requirements
- Proof of immunizations or immunity for:
- MMR (2 doses or positive titer; no declinations accepted)
- Varicella (2 doses or immunity; no declinations accepted)
- Hepatitis B vaccination series completion or signed declination
- Influenza vaccine during flu season (exemptions accepted with mask requirement)
- Tdap vaccine valid within 10 years (no declinations accepted)
- Tuberculosis screening:
- 2-step PPD or IGRA within specified timeframes, with annual TB questionnaire updates.
- If positive, chest X-ray within last year and TB questionnaire required.
- Fit test for respiratory protection, preferably completed prior to start.
- 12-panel drug screen within 30 days prior to start, updated annually.
