Job Opportunity: Respiratory Therapist - NICU

Location: Hollywood, Florida
Employment Type: Long-Term Assignment (LTA)
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Shift: 6:45 PM – 7:15 AM

Job Description

• Minimum 2-3 years of current experience as a Respiratory Therapist, functioning independently at bedside.
• Experience managing ventilated patients in a NICU setting is required.
• Must be familiar with the Servo U ventilator and proficient in its functions and modes used in NICU.
• Knowledge of Drager, Bunnell Jet Vent, Sensormedic 3100A oscillator, and Nitric Oxide is a plus.

Required Qualifications

Licensure

• Current, valid Respiratory Therapist license as required by the state of Florida.

Certifications (Required Prior to Start)

• BLS (Basic Life Support) – AHA/ARC accepted.
• PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support) – AHA/ARC accepted.
• NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program) – AAP/AHA accepted.

Recommended/Optional Certifications

• ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support) – AHA/ARC accepted (optional).

Health and Safety Requirements

• Proof of 2 MMR vaccinations or IGG titer.
• Proof of 2 Varicella vaccinations or IGG titer.
• Hepatitis B Surface Antibody (titer) or declination accepted; vaccination series documentation recommended.
• Influenza vaccine or approved exemption (required annually during flu season).
• TB test (QuantiFERON or T-Spot) completed within 12 months prior to start; for past positives, chest X-ray and updated TB questionnaire required annually.
• Fit test completed on site (required for direct patient care).
• Physical/Health Statement attesting ability to meet job physical requirements, signed by MD, DO, NP, or PA.

Background and Compliance

• Government-issued photo ID matching license state.
• Drug screen (10 panel) completed within 60 days prior to start.
• Background check within 30 days prior to start, including 7-year county and national criminal history, SSN trace, sex offender registry, and federal sanction searches.
• Employment verification for previous 7 years.
• Two professional references (manager/supervisor level or above).
• I-9 E-Verify attestation.
• Education verification of highest level completed.
• Recent color badge photo (within 6 months) meeting specified criteria.

Competency and Skills Verification

• Skills checklist current within 12 months prior to start.
• Core competencies completed within 365 days prior to start (minimum 80% pass rate).
• Specialty exam and pharmacology exam recommended (optional).

• Attestation form acknowledging receipt of key policies and job description required prior to start.
