Job Opportunity: Radiologist Tech II (X-Ray Technologist)

Location: Boston, Massachusetts
Employment Type: Travel
Contract Length: 25 weeks


Job Description

  • Provide advanced clinical quality patient care while producing radiologic images for diagnosis and treatment.
  • Complete x-rays efficiently while maintaining high standards of patient care and patient experience.
  • Determine appropriate radiographic techniques based on anatomy and patient condition to obtain quality images.
  • Prepare patients for diagnostic procedures including transporting, transferring, immobilizing, and positioning.
  • Explain procedures to patients considering their physical and emotional needs.
  • Record digital images for radiologist interpretation and maintain pertinent records.
  • Provide radiation protection according to safety standards.
  • May assist Radiology Technologist Students and new staff with radiologic exams, sterile technique, and supply stocking.
  • Must have fluoroscopy imaging experience.

Required Qualifications

  • Valid ARRT certification for Radiologic Technologist.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification (AHA preferred).
  • Current professional license for X-Ray Technologist in Massachusetts (no conditional licenses accepted).
  • Fit test for N95 respirator within 365 days of start date, updated annually (no onsite fit testing).
  • Documentation of MMR vaccination or immunity.
  • Influenza vaccine required during flu season (Oct 1 - Mar 15), no exemptions allowed.
  • TB screening within 3 months of start date (skin test or blood test), updated if >6 month break.
  • Health statement signed by MD/DO/NP/PA within 365 days of start date, updated if >6 month break.
  • Criminal background checks including Massachusetts CORI, SSN trace, national sex offender registry, and exclusion checks.
  • Documentation of two references within 4 years, including at least one supervisor or higher.
  • Resume including past 7 years of work experience with city and state.
  • Completion of skills checklist within 1 year of submission.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Hepatitis B vaccination or proof of immunity (declination accepted).
  • Tdap vaccination within 10 years, updated upon expiration.
  • Experience assisting students and new staff.
