Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA) - Temp, Outpatient (Days)

Job Description

• Perform physical therapy procedures and related tasks delegated by a supervising physical therapist (PT).
• Use clinical problem-solving skills to ensure patient safety, comfort, and completion of interventions.
• Provide a variety of treatment approaches using manual techniques and available equipment/modalities.
• Modify treatment based on patient progress and communicate changes to the supervising PT.
• Assist facility staff to maintain a clean, orderly, and effective rehabilitation environment.
• Document patient progress according to approved medical and facility procedures.
• Function independently within the scope of the PTA Practice Act.
• Maintain competency through ongoing education and training.
• Provide individualized patient and caregiver education.
• Adhere to the APTA code of ethics.

Required Qualifications

• Valid Physical Therapy Assistant license in Illinois.
• Minimum 2 years of experience as a Physical Therapist Assistant, including experience within the last year.
• Current American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.

Additional Information

• Electronic Medical Record system used: Cerner.
• Nonbillable hours: 16 hours.
• Overtime and holiday pay at 1.25x regular rate.
• Call back pay at 1.3x regular rate.
• On-call pay available.
