Job Summary
Provide nursing care in a long-term care setting, including observation of residents’ mental and physical well-being, administering medications and treatments, supervising nursing assistants, assisting with wound care, and supporting physicians during rounds. Responsible for documentation, infection control oversight, resident admissions/discharges/transfers, and communication with families and healthcare team members. Manage assigned unit during shifts under nursing leadership direction.
Key Responsibilities
- Observe residents continuously and report changes to supervisors and physicians.
- Administer medications and treatments as ordered; maintain accurate electronic documentation.
- Supervise Licensed Nursing Assistants (LNAs) and assign nursing staff duties consistent with scope of practice.
- Assist with wound care, including knowledge of wound vacs.
- Administer oxygen and gastrostomy/jejunostomy feedings per policy.
- Monitor unit activities such as therapy appointments, ambulation, weights, and vital signs documentation.
- Oversee infection control practices and maintain a safe, clean environment.
- Admit, discharge, and transfer residents with proper documentation.
- Complete shift reports and maintain communication with nursing leadership.
- Communicate with residents’ families regarding care and consent.
- Manage controlled substances according to regulations.
- Assist with orientation, education, and evaluation of nursing staff.
- Participate in staff meetings and in-service education.
Required Qualifications
- Valid Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) or Licensed Vocational Nurse (LVN) license in New Hampshire.
- Minimum 3 years of experience in Long Term Care nursing.
- Recent Long Term Care experience within the last year.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification issued by the American Heart Association.
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous travel nursing experience highly preferred.
- Experience working in rural or small facility settings highly preferred.

- Dress code: Scrubs (matching top and bottoms).
- Overtime and callback pay policies apply (details available upon request).
- Orientation hours: None required.
- Cancellation policy: Up to 3 shifts may be canceled per 13-week contract.
- Flu vaccine: Annual seasonal flu vaccine or declination accepted; decliners must wear a mask during flu season.
- Timekeeping: Clock in/out electronically at the facility; no paper timecards signed by managers.
