Histology Technologist (Temporary)

Location: Coos Bay, Oregon
Employment Type: Temporary
Shift: Days
Hours per Day: 8
Contract Length: 13 weeks

Job Description

Prepare histologic slides from tissue sections for microscopic examination and diagnosis by pathologists.
Perform embedding, cutting, staining, and grossing of small biopsies.
Maintain confidentiality and work independently with minimal supervision.
Use personal computers and various software programs relevant to the position.
Operate applicable office equipment.
Demonstrate effective interdepartmental and public communication skills.
Maintain regular, consistent, and punctual attendance.
Follow histologic techniques, procedures, and safety precautions.

Required Qualifications

Minimum 5 years of experience as a Histology Technologist, including experience within the last year.
ASCP certification.
Experience with Epic Anatomic Pathology (AP) software.

Additional Information

The facility offers an in-house Nurse Practitioner in Employee Health who provides care exclusively for employees and their dependents.
