Job Opportunity: Registered Nurse - Neuro ICU
Location: Madison, Wisconsin
Employment Type: Travel/Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Shift Details
- Evening/Night shifts
- 12-hour shifts (1900-0730)
- Every other weekend and some holidays
Start Dates
- Available start dates: April 20, May 4, or May 18, 2026
Required Experience & Skills
- Valid RN license in Wisconsin
- Neuro ICU experience with a minimum of 2 years, including experience within the last year
- One completed travel assignment
- American Heart Association (AHA) Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
- Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification
- Associate of Science in Nursing or Associate Degree in Nursing
- Experience with Intracranial Pressure (ICP) monitoring or ventriculostomy
- Minimum 2 years of acute care experience within the past 3 years
- Basic arrhythmia experience
- Experience with Epic electronic health record system
Licensure & Certifications
- Wisconsin RN license or compact license required
- American Heart Association (AHA) Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) required
Additional Requirements
- Prior travel experience required; first-time travelers will not be accepted
- Must successfully complete facility-specific Telemetry testing (pass/fail) before starting
- Background checks and education verifications as per facility standards
- Compliance with state-mandated caregiver screening and other health document requirements
Compliance & Documentation Highlights
- Background check within 90 days prior to start, including multi-location history
- Monthly monitoring for exclusion lists (EPLS/GSA/SAM, HHS/OIG)
- Education verification as applicable
- Wisconsin caregiver screening and BID form completion required
- Drug screening per standard clinical requirements
- Immunizations and health documents including:
- TB testing and questionnaire
- MMR (Measles, Mumps, Rubella) vaccination or exemption
- Varicella vaccination or exemption
- Hepatitis B vaccination or declination form
- Seasonal flu vaccination or approved exemption
- Facility-specific testing and training including Telemetry exams and rhythm interpretation remediation if needed
References & History
- Two clinical references within the last 3 years required
- Employment application and annual skills checklist required
This position is ideal for experienced Neuro ICU RNs with acute care and telemetry skills who have prior travel contract experience and meet all licensure and certification requirements.
