Job Opportunity: Registered Nurse - Emergency Room

Contract Length: 13 weeks

Job Description

• Minimum 2 years of current Registered Nurse experience required.
• Experience in a large hospital setting required.
• Must have 3 to 6 months experience in Level IV Trauma or above.
• Position is in a 23-bed Emergency Room.
• Prior travel experience preferred but not required.
• Blocked scheduling cannot be accommodated.
• Schedule typically follows a 36/48 shift pattern over a two-week pay period.
• Orientation occurs bi-weekly.
• Candidates must reside within 75 miles of the facility.
• Driver’s license required.

Required Certifications

• AHA Basic Life Support (BLS)
• AHA Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS)
• Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS)
• Trauma Nursing Core Course (TNCC)
• Crisis Prevention Institute (CPI) Blue Card (required for ER)
• NIH Stroke Certification
• Competency exams including Medication/Pharmacology, Dysrhythmia/EKG (within 1 year), and Core Parts I, II, and III

Required Licenses

• Valid Kentucky RN license or compact RN license.

Required Qualifications

• Valid RN license in Kentucky.
• Minimum 2 years of Emergency Department (ED) experience, with at least some experience within the last year.
• Current certifications including ACLS, BLS, PALS (all issued by the American Heart Association), TNCC, CPI, and NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS).
• Associate of Science in Nursing or Associate Degree in Nursing.
• Experience working in a large hospital setting.
• Trauma care experience.

Health and Compliance Requirements

• Annual physical exam or physician’s note stating clearance to work.
• Negative TB test (QuantiFERON blood test) within 1 year.
• Up-to-date immunizations or proof of immunity for Measles, Mumps, Rubella, Varicella, Hepatitis B, Tetanus/Diphtheria/Tdap.
• Drug testing within 30 days of start.
• Seasonal flu vaccination or approved medical/religious exemption.
• Fit mask test completed onsite (PAPRs not accommodated).
• Background checks including national and county searches, sex offender registry, and others as required.

• Candidates must complete all required documentation and attestations prior to start.
• Scheduling and assignment confirmation must be completed promptly.
• Candidates should not be submitted for multiple jobs simultaneously.
