Registered Nurse Travel/Contract Job - Greensboro, North Carolina
Job Details
- Location: Greensboro, North Carolina
- Employment Type: Travel/Contract
- Contract Length: 13 weeks
- Shift: Nights, 7:00 PM – 7:30 AM (3x12 hour shifts)
- Schedule: Every 3rd weekend and holidays as needed
- Float: Required; may float between multiple campuses as needed
- Patient Ratio: 1:6
- Unit: Inpatient Acute Care Rehabilitation
- Specialty Focus: Care for patients with CVA, TBI, ABI, spinal cord injury, neurological diagnoses, generalized debility, post-stroke, aneurysm, post-op surgical rehabilitation needs
Requirements/Qualifications
- Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in North Carolina
- Minimum 1 year of nursing experience, including Med Surg / Telemetry experience within the last year
- Rehabilitation experience
- Completion of at least one travel nursing assignment
- BLS (Basic Life Support) certification issued by the American Heart Association or American Red Cross
- Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)
Key Responsibilities & Skills
- Interpretation of laboratory results
- Medication reconciliation
- Patient health history, allergies, vital signs (BP, respirations, temperature, pulse)
- Dressing changes and aseptic/sterile procedure setup
- Specimen collection and labeling (capillary, throat, urine clean catch, phlebotomy)
- Telephone triage and pharmacy calls/patient refill requests
- Specialized care for neurological and rehabilitation patients
Compliance & Documentation Requirements
- Government-issued photo ID (Driver’s License/State ID)
- Social Security Card
- Background check within 60 days covering all locations lived/worked/schooled in past 7 years
- Education verification (including foreign equivalency if applicable)
- Transcript/Diploma as applicable
- Negative 10-panel drug screen within 40 days of start
- Immunizations and titers: Tetanus/Diphtheria/Tdap, MMR (Rubeola, Mumps, Rubella), Varicella, Hepatitis B, Flu seasonal vaccination or exemption
- Fit mask test (annual) for N95 respirators (exceptions apply)
- TB testing (Qgold/TSPOT within 6 months) and TB questionnaire annually
- Physical exam (if applicable)
- Employment verification for last 5 years and 7-year work history on application/resume
- References: 2 supervisory references from recent assignments (clinical positions)
Additional Notes
- Candidate must be flexible with scheduling and aware of zero-tolerance policy for tardiness and unexcused absences
- Must complete all compliance documentation by deadline prior to start date
- Floating between campuses is mandatory
- Pass/fail testing includes EPIC and Dysrhythmia/EKG exams with limited attempts allowed
- Badge photo must meet strict facility requirements (no selfies, solid background, business casual/uniform attire)
- Orientation includes review and signing of floating policy and contractor equipment acknowledgment
- Onboarding includes Workday login and multi-factor authentication setup prior to first day
This position is ideal for experienced Registered Nurses with acute care rehab background and prior travel contract experience who are comfortable working night shifts and floating across multiple units.
