Job Opportunity: Polysomnographer / Sleep Tech
Location
- Columbia, Missouri
Employment Type
- Travel / Contract
- Contract Length: 13 weeks
Work Schedule
- Night shifts, 3 shifts per week, 12 hours each (18:30 to 6:30)
- Shift options include any of the following 3-day blocks:
- Thursday, Friday, Saturday
- Friday, Saturday, Sunday
- Saturday, Sunday, Monday
- No holiday or on-call required
- Must be able to work assigned weekends and at least 50% of holidays during the contract
- Rotating shifts and work during inclement weather required
Experience Requirements
Physical Demands
- Active role requiring ambulating, reaching, and moving objects over 20 lbs
- Routine contact with patients who may have contagious illnesses
Required Qualifications
- Valid state license appropriate for Polysomnographer / Sleep Tech role
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification (AHA or ARC Provider card)
- Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification required for Respiratory Therapists (RRTs/CRTs); verify if applicable
- Other certifications as applicable to specialty (check with recruiter if unsure)
Background and Compliance Requirements
- 7-year background check required within 60 days of start, including alias search, criminal, sex offender, social security trace, and federal exclusions
- International background check if candidate has traveled outside the USA in the last 7 years
- EPLS/GSA/SAM and HHS/OIG exclusion screenings required within 60 days of start
- Missouri Family Care Safety Registry (FCSR) or Missouri Caregiver search must be on file within 60 days before starting (cannot start with both pending)
- Proof of identity (Photo ID) and employment eligibility (I9, E-Verify) required
- Photo for badge required for new candidates only
Health and Immunization Requirements
- Physical exam within 1 year of start (agency form acceptable)
- Negative TB test (QGold, TSpot, or 2-step PPD) within 1 year; chest x-ray if positive TB history
- Immunizations or proof of immunity required for:
- Rubeola (Measles)
- Mumps
- Rubella
- Varicella
- Hepatitis B (series or positive titer; declinations not accepted for new candidates after 7/1/2023)
- Tetanus/Diphtheria/Tdap within 10 years or approved exemption
- Seasonal flu vaccine or approved medical/religious exemption during flu season (Oct 1 - Mar 31)
- Negative 7-panel drug screen within 60 days of start
Documentation and Verification
- Resume with minimum 7 years employment history, no gaps over 30 days, including education details
- Two professional references within last 2 years (not necessarily supervisors)
- State license primary source verification within 60 days of start
- Certification verifications as applicable within 60 days of start
- Signed confidentiality and access agreements within 60 days of start
- Completion of required competency exams and safety orientation as applicable

- Minimum 1 year of experience as a Polysomnographer
- Polysomnographer experience within the last year
- Travel experience
