Job Opportunity: X-Ray Tech (Radiology / Cardiology)
Location: Knoxville, Tennessee
Employment Type: Travel/Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Job Description
- Work at a large Level I trauma center with a high volume of OR and fluoroscopy cases.
- Extensive OR experience required, including use of O-Arm and GE/Siemens X-ray equipment.
- Floating within scope to various areas including ED, inpatient, outpatient, OR, and portables.
- Schedule: 7p-7a, 5 days on / 2 days off split, with every other weekend required.
- Weekend work is required.
- No travel pairs allowed to request the same schedule.
- Local candidates within a 25-mile radius accepted.
- No pending licenses accepted.
- No holiday weeks off; RTO requests must be submitted ahead of time, preferably during interview.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum 1 year of experience as an X-Ray Technician within the last year.
- ARRT Certification required.
Certifications & Licenses
- ARRT Certification (mandatory)
- BLS (Basic Life Support) - AHA only
- ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) - Required for certain units (if applicable)
- Other certifications may be required depending on unit assignment (e.g., PALS, NRP, TNCC)
Compliance & Documentation Requirements
- Proof of I9 or attestation
- Government-issued photo ID carried during hours of service
- Background checks including 7-year criminal check, EPLS/GSA/SAM, HHS/OIG, education verification
- State license primary source verification (NURSYS verification for RNs if applicable)
- Drug screening: 10-panel drug screen with alcohol test within 1 year of start, updated annually
- Physical exam within last 12 months
- Immunizations and titers:
- TDAP (required, declination form if declined)
- Negative TB test or chest X-ray (QGOLD or Tspot within 3 months or 2 PPDs)
- Rubeola (Measles), Mumps, Rubella (titer or vaccines)
- Hepatitis B series or positive titer (declinations accepted only under specific circumstances)
- Varicella (2 vaccines, titer, or history of chickenpox)
- Hepatitis A (required for certain departments)
- Seasonal Flu vaccination required annually (exemptions require approved documentation)
- Fit testing for respiratory protection required
- Photo for badge (recent, plain background, shoulders up, no filters)
- References: 2 professional references within 2 years required for travel positions
- Skills checklist and competency exams as applicable
Additional Notes
- Must have hospital experience, preferably in a large volume hospital setting.
- No on-call required.
- No pending licenses accepted.
- Candidates must be able to comply with facility-specific policies and documentation requirements.
This position is ideal for experienced X-Ray Technologists with prior travel contract experience and strong OR skills looking to work in a high-acuity trauma center environment.
