Job Description
- Requires floating to various units including NICU, PICU, ED, stepdown, and medical-surgical as needed.
- Must be willing to comply with facility float expectations.
- Two supervisory references required; one must be from a supervisor or manager.
- Prefer approximately 2 years of nursing experience.
Required Qualifications
- License: Ohio State RN license or Compact RN license.
- Experience: Minimum 2 years of nursing experience preferred.
- References: Two professional references required (charge RN acceptable for one); peer references not accepted.
- Prior Travel Experience: Not explicitly required.
Certifications
- ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) - AHA certification required.
- BLS (Basic Life Support) - AHA certification required.
- PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support) - AHA certification required.
- NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program) - Required for NICU RNs.
- TNCC (Trauma Nursing Core Course) - Required as applicable.
- ENPC (Emergency Nursing Pediatric Course) - Required as applicable.
Background and Compliance Requirements
- Criminal background check within 30 days of start, including 7-year county search and education verification.
- EPLS/GSA/SAM and HHS/OIG checks required within 30 days of start.
- Ohio BCI/FBI fingerprinting required within 60 days of start and must be updated for each new contract.
- Education verification required, including highest degree verification.
- Sex offender search and various Ohio state-specific registry searches required within 30 days of start.
- Drug screening (9-panel) within 60 days prior to start.
- Code of Conduct and Confidentiality Agreement must be reviewed and signed prior to start.
- Affiliating Health Record completion required.
- Infection Control Policy review and signature required prior to start.
- Fit testing for N95 masks required within 1 year of start and updated annually.
- Physical exam required within 1 year of start (agency standard).
- TB testing options include 2 PPDs or IGRA within 12 months; additional requirements if positive.
- Immunizations required:
- Tetanus/Diphtheria/Tdap within 10 years.
- Flu vaccine required during flu season (Oct 31 - May 31); medical/religious exemptions accepted with documentation.
- Measles, Mumps, Rubella, Varicella, Hepatitis B immunization or titer documentation required.
- Fingerprinting proof of submission required within 24-48 hours of signing contract.
Additional Notes
- Floating to multiple units is mandatory.
- Must comply with all facility-specific documentation and compliance requirements.
- Candidate's legal name must match all licenses and certifications exactly.
- Temporary IDs or driver's licenses are not acceptable for compliance.
- Local Ohio addresses within 60 miles of the facility are considered local and may affect eligibility.
