Job Opportunity: Ambulatory Care LVN / LPN

Location: Columbia, Missouri
Employment Type: Travel/Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks


Job Summary

  • Requires 1 year of outpatient experience.
  • Prior travel experience is required.
  • Position involves active physical demands including ambulating, reaching, and moving objects over 20 lbs.
  • Exposure to patients with contagious illnesses is routine.
  • Facility operates 24/7, 365 days a year.
  • Rotating shifts, holiday work, and work during inclement weather are required.
  • Must be able to work assigned weekends, take call, and work at least 50% of holidays during the contract.

Required Qualifications

  • Valid LPN / LVN license in Missouri.
  • Minimum of 1 year of ambulatory care experience, with ambulatory care experience within the last year.
  • Experience in an outpatient setting.
  • Completion of at least one travel assignment.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification issued by the American Heart Association or American Red Cross.

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to ambulate, reach, and move objects weighing 20 lbs or more.

Compliance and Documentation Requirements

  • Proof of I-9 or attestation.
  • Valid photo ID (Driver’s License or State ID).
  • Background check including 7-year history, criminal, sex offender, social security trace, and exclusions screening.
  • International background check if candidate has traveled outside the USA in the last 7 years.
  • Missouri Family Care Safety Registry (FCSR) or Caregiver Background Screening required and must be current.
  • Negative drug screen (7 panel) within 60 days of start.
  • Physical exam within 1 year of start.
  • Immunizations and health screenings including:
    • Tetanus/Diphtheria/Tdap (within 10 years or approved exemption)
    • Negative TB test or chest X-ray (updated annually)
    • Measles, Mumps, Rubella (MMR) immunity or vaccination
    • Hepatitis B series or immunity (declinations not accepted for new candidates)
    • Varicella immunity or vaccination
    • Seasonal flu vaccination or approved exemption (required during flu season)
  • Fit mask test within 1 year of start (specific mask types required).

Additional Requirements

  • Ability to work full term at assigned location.
  • Ability to work substantial portion of assigned shifts.
  • Must be able to take call and work assigned weekends and holidays.
  • 2 professional references within the last 2 years required.
  • Resume must document at least 7 years of employment history with no gaps over 30 days.
