Travel Registered Nurse - Medical Surgical

Location: Augusta, Georgia
Employment Type: Travel/Contract
Contract Length: 14 weeks

Job Summary

Adult to Geriatric patient population
42-bed unit primarily caring for post-surgical patients including Orthopedics, Urology, Colorectal, Bariatrics, Neurology, and General Surgery
Nurse-to-patient ratio: 1:6
Unit uses Epic electronic health record system, Pyxis, and SBAR communication tools
Floating within facility/scope of practice as needed
Weekend shifts every other weekend
Required to work major holidays if they fall during assignment (Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving/Black Friday, Christmas Eve/Day, New Year’s Eve/Day)
Return to orientation (RTO) required within 7 days of assignment start
Orientation blackout dates during Spring Break (April 4th-12th)

Required Qualifications

Valid RN license in Georgia
Minimum 2 years of Medical-Surgical nursing experience, with experience within the last year
Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)
Basic Life Support (BLS) certification issued by the American Heart Association or American Red Cross
Experience with Epic electronic health record system
First-time travel nurses not accepted

Additional Information

Orientation hours vary based on contract length
Floating within the facility as needed
Full compliance with all requirements necessary to start on time; delays in compliance may result in assignment start delays
Locals accepted at the same rate
Dress code: Navy blue scrub color
Facility-specific policies and code of conduct must be reviewed and signed prior to start

This position is ideal for experienced Medical-Surgical RNs comfortable with a variety of post-surgical adult patient populations and who meet all licensure, certification, and compliance requirements.
