Job Description
- Requires floating to various units including NICU, PICU, Emergency Department, Stepdown, and Medical-Surgical as needed.
- Must be willing to comply with float expectations and assignments.
- Prefers close to 2 years of nursing experience.
- Requires 2 supervisory references, with at least one from a supervisor or manager.
- Floating is a mandatory part of the role.
Required Qualifications
- Current Ohio State RN license or Compact RN license.
- Minimum 2 years of experience preferred in nursing specialty.
- 2 professional references required (charge nurse acceptable for one).
- Must be willing to float to multiple units as assigned.
Certifications & Competencies
- ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) - AHA certification required.
- BLS (Basic Life Support) - AHA certification required.
- PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support) - AHA certification required.
- NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program) - Required for NICU nurses.
- TNCC (Trauma Nursing Core Course) - Required.
- ENPC (Emergency Nursing Pediatric Course) - Required.
- Medication Test/Pharmacology Competency Exam - Passing score required.
- Competency Exam as applicable to specialty.
Background & Compliance Requirements
- Criminal background check within 30 days of start (7-year search including all counties lived/worked).
- Education verification through National Student Clearinghouse or equivalent.
- EPLS/GSA/SAM and HHS/OIG checks within 30 days of start.
- Ohio BCI/FBI fingerprinting required within 60 days of start; must be updated for each new contract.
- Sex offender search and state-specific searches (Ohio Nurse Aide Registry, Inmate Registry, Medicaid Exemption, Abuse Registry) required within 30 days of start.
- Drug screening (9-panel) within 60 days prior to start.
- Code of Conduct and Confidentiality Agreement must be reviewed and signed prior to start.
- Affiliating Health Record completion required.
- Infection Control Policy review and signature required prior to start.
- Fit Mask (N95) testing required within 1 year of start; must be updated annually.
- Physical exam within 1 year of start (not required annually).
- TB testing options include 2 PPDs or IGRA within 12 months; additional requirements if positive.
- Immunizations required: Tdap (within 10 years), Flu vaccine (seasonal, with exemptions reviewed), Measles, Mumps, Rubella, Varicella, Hepatitis B (declination or proof of immunity accepted).
- Flu vaccine required between October 31 and May 31; medical/religious exemptions accepted with policy compliance.
- Fingerprint screening questions must be completed prior to start.

- Prior travel experience is not explicitly required.
- Floating to multiple units is a key job expectation.
