Job Opportunity: Labor and Delivery Nurse

Location: Winfield, Kansas
Employment Type: Travel/Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Shift: Nights, 3 shifts of 12 hours (3x12s)
Weekend Requirement: Every third weekend

Job Description

• Work in a critical access setting, primarily covering after the second shift
• Must be able to manage high-risk labor and delivery cases including vaginal deliveries, forceps/vacuum-assisted deliveries, C-sections, and surgical cases such as cervical cerclage
• Neonatal and newborn care responsibilities
• Pain management and postpartum care
• Use of external fetal monitoring (EFM), sterile speculum exams, NST, reflex checks, sterile vaginal exams
• IV management, medication administration
• Previous charge nurse experience preferred

Required Qualifications

• License: Valid Kansas RN license or compact license (no pending licenses accepted)
• Experience: Minimum 2 years of experience in Labor and Delivery nursing
• Certifications:

  • ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support)
  • BLS (Basic Life Support)
  • NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program)
• Prior Travel Experience: Required (first-time travelers not accepted)

Additional Requirements

• Must provide proof of required background checks including 7-year criminal history and state-specific exclusion checks
• Required health documents including physical exam, negative TB test or chest x-ray, immunizations (Measles, Mumps, Rubella, Hepatitis B, Varicella), and drug screening
• Proof of education and licensure verification
• Completion of onboarding education and compliance training prior to start
• Proof of 2 clinical references
• Competency exams and medication/pharmacology competency as applicable

• Block scheduling allowed on a case-by-case basis
