Job Opportunity: Speech Language Pathologist School

Location

Employment Type

  • Travel/Contract
  • Contract Length: Approximately 6 weeks (43 days)
  • Work Hours: 37.5 hours/week (Day shift, Monday-Friday, 7:00 AM – 2:30 PM)
  • Caseload Size: 20-30 students
  • Open to Candidates in Clinical Fellowship Year (CFs)

Job Description

  • Position covers the 2026-2027 school year
  • Start date: New School Year (NSY)
  • Provide speech-language pathology services to elementary-aged children

Required Qualifications

  • Valid Speech Language Pathologist license in Illinois

Health and Safety Requirements

  • Negative TB test (PPD, Qgold, or Tspot) within 90 days of start, or negative chest x-ray if prior positive PPD
  • Annual TB questionnaire completion required
  • Physical exam required within 90 days of start (Illinois state mandate)
  • Flu vaccination and other immunizations as required by client (not always mandatory)
  • Drug testing only if specifically requested by client

Additional Requirements

  • Fingerprinting must be completed through designated Illinois VECHS process prior to start
  • Candidate must bring completed fingerprinting form to fingerprint appointment
  • Orientation Safety Manual Acknowledgement (annual update required)
  • Harassment Prevention Training certificate accepted if renewed through school or approved vendors
  • Educational Services State Teaching Certificate with appropriate endorsements (PEL with LBS1 Endorsement for Special Education)
  • FERPA training and acknowledgment (annual update required)
  • Skills checklist required for clinical staff (not required for non-clinical roles)

Notes

  • Prior travel experience is not explicitly required for this position
  • Competency exams are not required unless specifically requested by the school
  • Drug screens are not routinely required unless requested by the client
  • Fingerprint clearance results must be obtained before the assignment start date; clearance turnaround may take up to 15 days
  • Returning candidates may not need to resubmit certain forms if no new employers have been added since last assignment
