Job Opportunity: Echo Tech / Cardiac Sonographer
Location
- Columbia, Missouri
Employment Type
- Travel / Contract
- Contract Length: 13 weeks
Work Schedule
- Day shift, 4 days per week (10-hour shifts)
- Shift hours: 8:30 AM to 7:00 PM
- Rotating shifts, including weekends, holidays, and work during inclement weather may be required
- Must be able to work at least 50% of holidays during the contract
Experience Requirements
- Minimum 2 years of experience in Radiology / Cardiology specialty
- First-time travelers are welcome (prior travel experience not required)
Physical Demands
- Active role requiring ambulating, reaching, and moving objects over 20 lbs
- Routine contact with patients who may have contagious illnesses
Required Qualifications
- Cardiac Sonographer with at least 2 years of experience
- Cardiac Sonographer experience within the last year
Certifications
- BLS (Basic Life Support) - AHA or ARC Provider card required
- ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) - AHA or ARC Provider card required for this specialty
- Other certifications may be required depending on specific patient population or unit (check with recruiter)
Health and Safety Requirements
- Physical exam within 1 year of start (agency form acceptable)
- Negative drug screen (7-panel) within 60 days of start
- Fit mask test within 1 year of start (3M 1870+, 1860R, 1860S, or 9205 models)
- Immunizations and screenings required within 48 hours of signing:
- Tetanus/Diphtheria/Tdap vaccination within 10 years or approved exemption
- Negative TB test (QGold, TSpot, or 2-step PPD) within 1 year; chest x-ray if positive TB history
- Measles, Mumps, Rubella: Positive titer or 2 MMR vaccines (at least one after 1980)
- Hepatitis B series or positive/reactive titer; boosters required if low titer
- Varicella: Positive titer or 2 vaccines
- Seasonal flu vaccine or approved medical/religious exemption during flu season (Oct 1 - Mar 31)
Documentation and Compliance
- Missouri Family Care Safety Registry (FCSR) or Caregiver Background Screening must be on file within 60 days of start; cannot start with both pending
- Photo for badge required for new candidates (head and shoulders, neutral background)
- Signed confidentiality and access agreements within 60 days of start
- Completion of orientation safety manual acknowledgment
- Resume must include at least 7 years of employment history with no gaps over 30 days; education details required
- Two professional references from the last 2 years required (not necessarily supervisors)
Additional Notes
- Must be able to work full term at assigned location and complete substantial portion of assigned shifts
- Must be able to work assigned weekends
- Must comply with all facility-specific health and safety protocols and documentation requirements
