Job Opportunity: Pathologists Assistant / Pathology Technician

Location: San Francisco, California
Employment Type: Travel/Contract
Shift: Evening (5 days a week, 8 hours per day) — 2:00 PM to 10:30 PM
Contract Length: 13 weeks

Job Summary

Perform pre-analytic, analytic, and post-analytic laboratory procedures on biological specimens to support diagnosis, treatment, monitoring, and disease prevention.
Handle specimen/material receipt, preparation, archival/retrieval, validation testing, and troubleshooting per department policies.
Collaborate professionally with physicians, clients, and staff to ensure superior patient care.
Manage pathology materials including storage, retrieval, and disposal of tissue and chemical waste.
Conduct gross dissection and description of pathology specimens of varying complexity.
Assist with intra-procedural consultations such as gross examinations and frozen sectioning.
Perform all aspects of post-mortem examinations including documentation and ancillary processes (decalcification, photography, x-ray imaging).
Participate in quality control, compliance, validation, and implementation of new testing methodologies.
Audit accessioning and coding, provide feedback, and troubleshoot laboratory issues.

Required Qualifications

Minimum of 1 year of experience as a Pathologists' Assistant, with such experience obtained within the last year.
