Cath Lab Registered Nurse Travel/Contract Position

Location: Columbia, South Carolina
Contract Length: 13 weeks

Position Details

• Specialty: Registered Nurse (Cath Lab)
• Shift: Day shift, 4x10-hour shifts (7:00 AM – 5:30 PM)
• Patient Ratio: 1:1
• Weekend Requirement: Yes, one weekend (Friday, Saturday, Sunday) per month on call
• On-Call Requirement: One call shift on a weekday every week
• Floating: No floating between service lines or sister facilities

Required Qualifications

• Valid RN license in South Carolina
• Minimum 2 years of Cardiac Cath Lab experience, including Electrophysiology Lab experience
• Cardiac Cath Lab experience within the last year
• Associate of Science in Nursing / Associate Degree in Nursing
• BLS (Basic Life Support) certification issued by American Heart Association or American Red Cross
• ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) certification issued by American Heart Association

Health and Safety Requirements

• Physical exam within 90 days of start, updated annually, confirming ability to meet physical demands without restrictions
• Negative TB test (T-spot or Q-Gold) within 90 days of start or appropriate follow-up if positive
• Annual TB questionnaire completion required
• Required immunizations or proof of immunity:

  • Measles (Rubeola), Mumps, Rubella: Positive titer or 2 vaccines (boosters if low titer)
  • Varicella: Positive titer or 2 vaccines (boosters if low titer)
  • Hepatitis B: Titer, vaccine series, or vaccination declination form
  • Tdap within 10 years or declination form
• Drug screening: 10-panel drug screen within 90 days of start (no instant tests)
• Respirator medical clearance annually (RespSafety virtual questionnaire)
• COVID-19 vaccination highly preferred; if declined, must complete vaccination declination form
• Seasonal flu vaccination or medical/religious exemption required during flu season (Aug 1 – Mar 31)

Documentation and Compliance

• Copy of Driver’s License/State ID and Social Security Card required
• Employment application/resume including all PTO, contract assignments, agency names, and no unaccounted gaps
• Background check within 1 year including:

  • SSN trace, county, state, national criminal, sex offender registry, FACIS 3, and international searches if applicable
• Education verification required; diploma or transcripts accepted as placeholder if verification pending
• Work history verification of last 3 clinical employers required
• Facility-specific documents to be completed prior to start, including:

  • Job description acknowledgment
  • Confidentiality and security agreement
  • Contractor forms
  • Request for ID badge
  • Orientation modules (approx. 2 hours, must be completed on a computer before orientation)
• Passport-style photo for badge (frontal view, solid light background, no hats/sunglasses)

• Local radius: 60 miles
• First-time travelers accepted
• Facility uses Epic for charting
• Parking available at no cost with a parking pass
• Hurricane season (June–November) may require emergency response team participation; avoid confirming new or extended assignments during peak months (Aug–Sept) if this is a concern
• Block scheduling may be accommodated with manager approval based on unit needs
• Facility may call off 1 shift every 2 weeks; called off hours can be broken down but total no more than 1 shift
