Cath Lab Registered Nurse Travel/Contract Position
Location: Columbia, South Carolina
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Position Details
- Specialty: Registered Nurse (Cath Lab)
- Shift: Day shift, 4x10-hour shifts (7:00 AM – 5:30 PM)
- Patient Ratio: 1:1
- Weekend Requirement: Yes, one weekend (Friday, Saturday, Sunday) per month on call
- On-Call Requirement: One call shift on a weekday every week
- Floating: No floating between service lines or sister facilities
Required Qualifications
- Valid RN license in South Carolina
- Minimum 2 years of Cardiac Cath Lab experience, including Electrophysiology Lab experience
- Cardiac Cath Lab experience within the last year
- Associate of Science in Nursing / Associate Degree in Nursing
- BLS (Basic Life Support) certification issued by American Heart Association or American Red Cross
- ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) certification issued by American Heart Association
Health and Safety Requirements
- Physical exam within 90 days of start, updated annually, confirming ability to meet physical demands without restrictions
- Negative TB test (T-spot or Q-Gold) within 90 days of start or appropriate follow-up if positive
- Annual TB questionnaire completion required
- Required immunizations or proof of immunity:
- Measles (Rubeola), Mumps, Rubella: Positive titer or 2 vaccines (boosters if low titer)
- Varicella: Positive titer or 2 vaccines (boosters if low titer)
- Hepatitis B: Titer, vaccine series, or vaccination declination form
- Tdap within 10 years or declination form
- Drug screening: 10-panel drug screen within 90 days of start (no instant tests)
- Respirator medical clearance annually (RespSafety virtual questionnaire)
- COVID-19 vaccination highly preferred; if declined, must complete vaccination declination form
- Seasonal flu vaccination or medical/religious exemption required during flu season (Aug 1 – Mar 31)
Documentation and Compliance
- Copy of Driver’s License/State ID and Social Security Card required
- Employment application/resume including all PTO, contract assignments, agency names, and no unaccounted gaps
- Background check within 1 year including:
- SSN trace, county, state, national criminal, sex offender registry, FACIS 3, and international searches if applicable
- Education verification required; diploma or transcripts accepted as placeholder if verification pending
- Work history verification of last 3 clinical employers required
- Facility-specific documents to be completed prior to start, including:
- Job description acknowledgment
- Confidentiality and security agreement
- Contractor forms
- Request for ID badge
- Orientation modules (approx. 2 hours, must be completed on a computer before orientation)
- Passport-style photo for badge (frontal view, solid light background, no hats/sunglasses)
Additional Information
- Local radius: 60 miles
- First-time travelers accepted
- Facility uses Epic for charting
- Parking available at no cost with a parking pass
- Hurricane season (June–November) may require emergency response team participation; avoid confirming new or extended assignments during peak months (Aug–Sept) if this is a concern
- Block scheduling may be accommodated with manager approval based on unit needs
- Facility may call off 1 shift every 2 weeks; called off hours can be broken down but total no more than 1 shift
