Radiation Therapist

Job Overview

Required Qualifications

  • Valid Radiation Therapist license in Oregon
  • Radiation Therapist (1 year of experience)
  • Radiation Therapist experience within the last year
  • BLS - Basic Life Support

Key Responsibilities

  • Administer radiation therapy as prescribed and planned by the physician
  • Maintain accurate treatment chart documentation and electronic treatment records
  • Check prescriptions, diagnoses, charts, and patient identification
  • Explain procedures and treatment-related communication to patients
  • Monitor patients during treatment and report complications or unusual reactions
  • Operate computerized simulation and treatment machines safely
  • Perform machine safety checks, warm-up procedures, and treatment QA
  • Prepare treatment rooms and equipment according to prescription
  • Construct immobilization devices and use custom blocking techniques
  • Use imaging equipment and treatment planning systems for tumor localization
  • Train, mentor, and directly supervise radiation therapy students
  • Maintain the daily treatment schedule
  • Follow department and hospital policies and the Radiation Therapist Code of Ethics

  • CE credits and licensure must be maintained
