Job Opportunity: Labor and Delivery Nurse (Travel/Contract)
Location: Billings, Montana
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Shift: Day shift, 3 shifts per week, 12 hours each (7:00 AM – 7:30 PM)
Hours per Week: 36
Job Description
- Work in Labor, Delivery, Recovery, and Postpartum (LDRP) unit.
- Must be experienced in labor, delivery, and postpartum care; will care for couplets (mother and newborn).
- Float to Pediatrics and NICU required; may "safety sit" on any unit.
- Bonus if experienced with high-risk pregnancy and antepartum patients.
- Call requirement: 3-4 call shifts per 8-week block.
Required Qualifications
- Valid RN license in Montana
- Minimum 2 years of Labor and Delivery experience, including experience within the last year
- One completed travel assignment
- BLS (Basic Life Support) issued by the American Heart Association
- NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program)
- EFM (Electronic Fetal Monitoring)
- Associate of Science in Nursing or Associate Degree in Nursing
- Experience working with Maternal-Fetal patients
Compliance and Background Checks
- 7-year background check required within 30 days of start; must be renewed annually.
- EPLS/GSA/SAM and HHS/OIG checks required within 30 days of start.
- Education verification of highest level required.
Health and Safety Requirements
- Physical exam within 1 year of start, signed by MD, NP, or PA, confirming good health and ability to perform job duties.
- Quantitative fit test with 3M mask within 90 days prior to start (annual renewal required).
- Negative TB test or chest X-ray with annual renewal.
- Required immunizations or proof of immunity:
- Measles (Rubeola)
- Mumps
- Rubella
- Hepatitis B
- Varicella
- Tetanus/Diphtheria/Tdap (Tdap preferred within 10 years)
- Seasonal flu vaccination required during flu season (Oct 31 – Mar 31) or approved exemption.
- COVID-19 vaccination series or approved medical/religious exemption required.
- Negative drug screen within 30 days of start; must be renewed annually.
Documentation and Verification
- Two references required, including one direct supervisor reference within the last year.
- Current employment application covering 7 years with explanations for gaps over 30 days.
- Employment verification preferred for last 5 years.
- Skills checklist as applicable.
Additional Notes
- This is a travel/contract position with a 13-week assignment.
- Call shifts and floating to other units are part of the job duties.
- Candidates must have prior travel experience and meet distance requirements from the facility.
