Labor and Delivery Registered Nurse

Overview

• Travel/contract role in Brawley, California
• 13-week contract
• Night shift: 4x12 hours, 7:00 PM to 7:00 AM
• 48 hours per week
• Ratios: 1:1–2
• First-time travelers accepted
• Guaranteed contracted hours

Required Qualifications

• Valid RN license in California
• Labor and Delivery (2 years of experience)
• Labor and Delivery experience within the last year
• ACLS - Advanced Cardiac Life Support issued by American Heart Association or American Red Cross
• BLS - Basic Life Support issued by American Heart Association or American Red Cross
• NRP - Neonatal Resuscitation Procedure
• EFM - Electronic Fetal Monitoring
• Associate of Science in Nursing / Associate Degree in Nursing
• Maternal - Newborn experience

Preferred Qualifications

• Charge nurse experience

Schedule / Assignment Details

• Every other weekend required
• Floating may be required within scope to Mother Baby Unit
• No on-call required
• Requests for time off greater than 7 days require approval

Unit / Clinical Notes

• Labor and Delivery assignment
• Level IV Trauma short-term acute care setting
• Total staffed beds: 107
• Advanced EFM is required for Labor and Delivery
• NRP is required for Labor and Delivery and Mother Baby
• ACLS is required for Labor and Delivery, Med Surg, MS/Tele, and Mother Baby

Pre-Start Requirements

• Government-issued photo ID
• Emergency contact form
• Background check
• Education verification
• Primary source verification of state license
• Color blind testing
• Competency exam
• Core Part I, II, and III
• Medication test/pharmacology competency exam
• Physical exam within 1 year of start
• Fit mask testing
• Tdap vaccine
• TB screening within 1 year of start
• Measles, mumps, rubella, hepatitis B, and varicella immunity/documentation
• Drug screen within 60 days of start
• Seasonal flu documentation or declination during flu season
• Current season COVID vaccine or declination form
• 2 professional references
• Unit-specific skills checklist within 1 year of start
• Work history verification for the past 3 years
