Contract Length
- 16 weeks
Patient Population / Unit Focus
- Adult and geriatric oncology patients
- Cancer care includes chemotherapy, clinical trials, brachytherapy, and CBI
- Telemetry monitoring and dysrhythmia interpretation are part of the role
Required Qualifications
- Valid RN license in Ohio
- Associate of Science in Nursing / Associate Degree in Nursing
- Med Surg / Telemetry (2 years of experience)
- Med Surg / Telemetry experience within the last year
- BLS issued by American Heart Association
- Experience administering chemotherapy treatments
- Experience with brachytherapy procedures
- Experience with neobladder care
- Experience with clinical trial participation and data collection
- Ohio BCI and FBI fingerprinting completed within 1 year of start
- 7-year criminal background check within 90 days of start
- 2 professional references, including at least 1 from a manager/director or other formal leader

- Negative 10-panel drug screen within 3 months of start
- Physical exam
- Tdap
- Negative TB test or chest X-ray
- MMR immunity or vaccination documentation for measles, mumps, and rubella
- Hepatitis B immunity, vaccination series, or signed declination
- Varicella immunity or vaccination documentation
- Seasonal flu vaccination or declination during flu season
Preferred
- Oncology Nursing Society (ONS) Chemotherapy certification
Additional Notes
- EPIC is used for charting
- Staffing ratio aims for 1:4, but may increase to 1:5 based on unit needs

Units are nice, staff are kind. Single patient rooms with 4:1 ratios day and night on med surg.
Cons
Scheduled every weekend, floated for the first 6 weeks of contract every shift. Not traveler friendly even though they say they are. Staff are treated well not travelers.
