Pediatric Behavioral Health Nurse
Job Overview
- Travel/contract RN role in Saint Louis, Missouri
- 13-week assignment
- Day shift, 3x12s, 7:00 AM–7:30 PM
- 36 hours per week
- Primarily days, with rotation possible if needed
- Every other weekend required
- Ratios: 1:3
- Start date is expected in 3–4 weeks due to compliance processing
- First-time travelers are not accepted
- Local candidates are not accepted within 75 miles
- Pending license accepted
- On-call is not required
- Block scheduling is not available
- May float within scope, including to 1:1 observer coverage and the behavioral health pods of the ED
Required Qualifications
- Valid RN license in Missouri
- Pediatric Behavioral Health (2 years of experience)
- Pediatric Behavioral Health experience within the last year
- One completed travel assignment
- BLS - Basic Life Support issued by American Heart Association
- CPI - Crisis Prevention Institute
- Associate of Science in Nursing / Associate Degree in Nursing
Preferred Qualifications
- Pediatric experience
- Strong communication and de-escalation skills
Unit Details
- Pediatric Behavioral Health Unit
- Completes daily assessments
- Administers medications
- Supports behavioral health techs
- May serve as a 1:1 observer
Compliance and Onboarding
- Government-issued ID required
- Background check required
- Education verification required
- Employment application required
- Two professional references required
- Skills checklist required within 1 year of start
- Physical exam required within 1 year of start
- Drug screening required within 1 year of start and must remain valid through the assignment
- Fit testing required before working independently
- Tdap documentation or declination required
- Flu vaccination or approved exemption required during flu season
- TB documentation required
- Measles, mumps, rubella, and varicella immunity documentation required
- Hepatitis B declination required
- HIPAA acknowledgement, confidentiality form, latex allergy questionnaire, hand hygiene policy, fingernail policy, dress code policy, and regulatory compliance education are required
- Orientation modules are not required for this facility

- Parking is available at daily garage rates
- Facility is a children’s acute care teaching hospital with 14 staffed beds on the unit
