Role Summary
- High-acuity medical-surgical telemetry nursing in an oncology-focused inpatient setting.
- Floating may include medical-surgical and progressive care oncology units.
- The unit emphasizes infection prevention and fall prevention.
Required Qualifications
- Valid RN license in Ohio
- Med Surg / Telemetry (2 years of experience)
- Med Surg / Telemetry experience within the last year
- ACLS issued by American Heart Association
- BLS issued by American Heart Association
- NIHSS
- Associate of Science in Nursing / Associate Degree in Nursing
Preferred Qualifications
- Oncology experience
Schedule Notes
- Weekend coverage varies based on unit needs.
- No blocked scheduling.
- Orientation includes one week of weekday dayshift orientation, followed by five bedside orientation shifts before independent practice.
Unit Environment
- Comprehensive cancer center with specialized inpatient units by cancer diagnosis.
- Staffing ratios are typically 1:3 on PCU and 1:4 on Med Surg Tele, with higher ratios possible depending on acuity.

Units are nice, staff are kind. Single patient rooms with 4:1 ratios day and night on med surg.
Cons
Scheduled every weekend, floated for the first 6 weeks of contract every shift. Not traveler friendly even though they say they are. Staff are treated well not travelers.
