PCU RN Travel/Contract Job

Overview

• Registered Nurse position in Dededo, Guam
• Travel/contract assignment
• 13-week contract
• Acute care setting
• Adult Trauma II facility
• 132 staffed beds

Schedule

• 12-hour shifts
• Travelers are scheduled primarily on one shift, day or night, with no shift preference
• Every other weekend required
• Holidays required
• Overtime is not guaranteed
• Block scheduling is unit-dependent
• Contracted hours are guaranteed, though the client may cancel 3 shifts per 13-week assignment

Required Qualifications

• 2 years of RN experience required
• Compact or Guam RN license in hand at time of submittal
• ACLS
• BLS
• Passport in hand required
• First-time travelers not accepted
• Pending license not accepted
• Local candidates not accepted
• Must be willing to float within scope to Med-Surg and ED Tele overflow as needed

Unit Details

• PCU/Tele RN role
• Tele unit with PCU level of care
• May also care for ICU-level patients when needed
• Typical ratio is 1:4-5
• Routine cardiac and thoracic post-procedure patients may be included

Compliance and Pre-Start Requirements

• Current US passport required; Canadian passports are not accepted
• Government-issued photo ID required
• Emergency contact form required before start
• Background check required before start
• EPLS/GSA/SAM and HHS/OIG checks required annually
• Physical exam within 1 year of start
• Fit test within 1 year prior to start and renewed annually
• Negative TB test or chest X-ray within 1 year of start
• Proof of measles, mumps, rubella, varicella, and hepatitis B immunity or vaccination status required
• 9-panel drug screen required
• Flu vaccination or declination required during flu season
• COVID vaccination is strongly preferred
• Work history verification for the last 10 years required
• At least 2 professional references within the last 3 years required
• Skills checklist required annually
• Pass/fail testing and competency testing required
• NIH Stroke Scale training required for RNs
• Nursing module completion required before start
• Pressure injury training and checklist required
• Alaris IV Pumps certificate required
• Pyxis CareFusion certificate required
• Drug calculations and BKAT exams are administered onsite during orientation

Additional Notes

• Travel partners are accepted on a case-by-case basis
• RTO must be approved before start and cannot be added after the contract begins
• Maximum RTO: 3 consecutive days per 2 weeks, 7 total days
• Travelers should be prepared to pick up additional shifts due to census
• Flights are not reimbursed
• Parking is free
• Scrub color: any solid color is acceptable; navy blue preferred
