Location: Seattle, Washington
Employment Type: Travel/Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Overview
- Position: Electrophysiology RN to cover a leave of absence
- Schedule: Monday to Friday, 5 shifts of 8 hours each (08:30 AM - 05:00 PM)
- Start Date: ASAP
- Required Experience: Minimum 2 years in specialty (EP Lab experience required)
- First-time travelers accepted
- No weekend or on-call requirements
- Must have a background in Cardiology
- May need to float between like units as needed within skillset
- Open to local, non-local, and true travelers
Required Skills
- Pacemaker/Defibrillator lead extraction/removal
- Watchman procedure
- Arrhythmia induction
- Cardiac ablation
- Cardiac mapping
- Cardioversion
- Conduction studies
- Insertion/programming of AICDs
- Left atrial appendage (LAA) closure
- Pacemaker insertion
- Use of antiarrhythmics, antihypertensives, thrombolytics
- Interpretation and management of dysrhythmias
- Obtaining 12 lead EKG/ECG
Preferred Qualifications
- Familiarity with GLP-1 therapies in AFib management
- Experience in risk factor modification or device clinics
- Strong patient education skills, especially regarding lifestyle and medication adherence
- Experience with quality improvement initiatives and team collaboration

Certifications Required
- ACLS (AHA or Canadian Heart & Stroke Foundation)
- BLS (AHA or Canadian Heart & Stroke Foundation)
- PALS (if applicable)
- NRP (if applicable)
- Chemotherapy certification (if applicable)
- Electronic Fetal Monitoring (if applicable)
- State License (valid Washington RN license required)
- NURSYS verification required for all RNs
- Other certifications as applicable per clinical track and unit requirements
Experience Requirements
- Minimum 2 years of experience in Electrophysiology nursing with EP Lab experience (highest required years of experience)
- Prior travel experience: Not explicitly required; first-time travelers accepted
Compliance and Documentation Requirements
- Background check within 45 days of start, covering all locations lived/worked in past 7 years
- Education verification (nursing degree)
- Drug screening (10 panel within 90 days of start)
- Physical exam within 1 year of start, signed by MD, NP, PA, or DO
- Immunizations and health documents including:
- TDAP (within 10 years or declination)
- Negative TB test or chest X-ray within 12 months
- MMR (Measles, Mumps, Rubella) vaccination or positive titer
- Hepatitis B vaccination or declination
- Varicella vaccination or positive titer
- Flu vaccine during flu season or declination
- COVID vaccine or declination
- Respirator clearance (RespSafety) for travel candidates starting on or after 2/5/2024
- WA State Patrol Search and other state-specific background checks as required
Training and Competency Requirements
- Medication/Pharmacology competency exam as applicable
- Skills checklist updated annually for applicable units
- Providence WorkRamp modules (regulatory, specialty, and facility-specific) must be completed prior to start
- Epic training modules required and must be completed within orientation period
References and Employment History
- Minimum 2 references covering 1 year of employment within the last 3 years in a comparable specialty/setting
- Employment application covering at least last 5 years (7 years for APN/subcontractors) with month/year format for dates
- Clarification required for any gaps or overlaps in employment
Additional Notes
- Float policy acknowledgment required; may be required to float to other Providence facilities within reasonable distance
- Open to local, non-local, and true travelers with an ideal outcome of conversion to permanent employment (temp-to-perm not mandatory)
This position is ideal for experienced Electrophysiology RNs with strong cardiology skills and EP Lab experience who are flexible with travel and interested in outpatient cardiology settings using EPIC charting.
