Registered Nurse (Cardiac Stepdown) - Travel/Contract

Location: Lynchburg, Virginia
Contract Length: 13 weeks

Job Details

Shift: Nights, either 3x12 or 4x12 (6:45 PM - 7:15 AM)
Experience Required: Minimum 2 years in specialty
Prior Travel Experience: Required (first-time travelers not accepted)
Radius Rule: 60 mile radius
Orientation: Biweekly on Mondays
Licensure: Candidates with pending certifications will be considered
Dress Code: Any color scrubs, professional appearance, child-friendly print tops allowed, scrub/lab coat allowed
Nicotine-free campus

Required Certifications

BLS (Basic Life Support)
ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support)
NIHSS (National Institutes of Health Stroke Scale)

Compliance & Documentation Requirements

Unexpired government-issued photo ID
Background checks including SS Trace, County searches (last 7 years), Nationwide, Sex Offender, FACIS Level 3 (updated annually)
EPLS/GSA/SAM and HHS/OIG checks prior to start
National certification verification prior to start and upon expiration
Orientation Safety Manual Acknowledgement (updated annually)
State License verification prior to start and upon expiration
NURSYS verification prior to start
Medication Test/Pharmacology Competency Exam (as applicable)
Competency Exam (as applicable)
Physical exam within 12 months prior to start
Negative TB test or chest X-ray within 1 year prior to start
TB Questionnaire annually if applicable
Immunizations or titers for:
- Rubeola (Measles)
- Mumps
- Rubella
- Hepatitis B
- Varicella
Negative 9-panel drug screen within 90 days prior to start
Flu vaccination during flu season (medical/religious exemptions allowed with mask requirement)

References & Skills

Minimum 2 professional references within past 3 years (travel, allied, per diem acute care)
Specialty-specific skills checklist required
