Job Details

• Role: Medical Assistant (MA-C required; MA-R not accepted)
• Start Date: ASAP
• Shift: 5 days per week, 8 hours per day (Day shift)

  • Experience in Adult Outpatient Clinics (Cardiology Clinic setting)
• Floating: May be required to float within skillset as needed
• Transportation: Reliable personal transportation required
• Candidate Preference: Local candidates preferred (within 50 miles), with a focus on potential permanent placement (temp-to-perm ideal but not mandatory)

Compliance & Documentation Requirements

Background Checks

• Must have a background check within 45 days of start covering all locations lived/worked in the past 7 years
• Includes SSN Trace, Death Master Index, Counties, Nationwide, National Sex Offender, FACIS Level 3, Education Verification, MVR (if applicable), and international background if applicable
• Returning candidates with less than 30-day gap may not require new background check
• Open/active felony cases will disqualify candidate
• State-specific searches required for Washington and border states
• OBRA Registry search required for CNAs in Washington at Skilled Nursing Facilities (not applicable for MA)

Certifications

• BLS (Basic Life Support) - AHA or Canadian Heart & Stroke Foundation certification required
• MA-C certification required
• Other certifications (ACLS, PALS, NRP, etc.) not required for this role unless specified by clinical track
• Must verify certifications via credentialing system

Health Documents

• Physical exam within 1 year of start, signed by MD, NP, PA, or DO
• Fit mask test (N95 or equivalent) required for travel candidates, updated annually
• Immunizations/vaccinations required:

  • Tetanus/Diphtheria/Tdap (within 10 years or declination accepted)
  • Negative TB test or chest X-ray within 12 months, updated annually
  • MMR (Measles, Mumps, Rubella) - 2 vaccines or positive titer or declination
  • Hepatitis B vaccination or signed declination
  • Varicella - 2 vaccines or positive titer or declination
  • Seasonal Flu vaccine or declination during flu season
  • COVID vaccine or declination
• Drug screening: 10-panel drug screen within 90 days of start (no instant tests)

Competencies & Training

• Must complete Providence Health and Services required WorkRamp modules prior to start (specific to region and role)
• Epic training modules required; candidate must have Epic experience and complete assigned Epic modules
• Medication competency exams as applicable
• Skills checklist updated annually as applicable

Employment History & References

• Employment application covering at least last 5 years (7 years for APN/subcontractors)
• Minimum of 2 supervisor references covering 6 months of employment in a comparable specialty within last 3 years (for Medical Assistants in PCN region)

Additional Notes

• No call/no show for interviews will disqualify candidate from future positions in the health system
• Candidate must provide 3 interview times including time zone when submitting
• Must confirm return-to-office (RTO) restrictions with hiring manager before submission
• Float policy acknowledgment required; may float to other Providence facilities within reasonable distance
