Job Opportunity: Registered Nurse (ER) - Travel/Contract

Location: Greensboro, North Carolina
Contract Length: 13 weeks


Job Details

  • Shift: Nights, 7 PM - 7 AM, 3x12 hour shifts
  • Schedule: Every other weekend (at least), holidays as needed
  • Float: Required to float between all campuses
  • Unit: General Emergency Department (Combined Adult and Pediatric ED)
  • Patient Ratios: 1:4
  • Beds: 18
  • Average Daily Census: 75

Experience Requirements

  • Minimum 2 years of Registered Nurse experience required
  • First-time travelers are accepted (prior travel experience NOT required)

Certifications Required

  • BLS (Basic Life Support)
  • ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support)
  • PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support)
  • Pass/Fail EKG/Dysrhythmia Exam (required for all RNs)
  • TNCC (Trauma Nursing Core Course) preferred but not required

Skills & Competencies

  • Charge RN experience preferred
  • Interpretation and management of dysrhythmias
  • Phlebotomy and IV starts
  • Triage skills required

Compliance & Documentation Requirements

  • Government-issued photo ID (Driver’s License/State ID)
  • Social Security Card (for badge issuance)
  • Background check within 60 days covering all locations lived/worked/schooled in past 7 years
  • Education verification (Associate’s degree in nursing or higher required)
  • Transcript/Diploma as applicable
  • NURSYS license verification within 60 days of start
  • Negative 10-panel drug screen within 40 days of start
  • Immunizations and health documents including:
    • Tetanus/Diphtheria/Tdap
    • Negative TB test or chest X-ray
    • MMR (Measles, Mumps, Rubella) or positive titers
    • Hepatitis B titer or declination
    • Varicella vaccine or positive titer
    • Seasonal flu vaccination or approved exemption
  • Fit mask test (annual, specific approved N95 respirators)
  • Physical exam (if applicable)
  • References: 2 supervisory references required from recent assignments
  • Employment application/resume with 7-year work history
  • Work history verification for last 5 years

Additional Notes

  • Candidates must be flexible with scheduling and aware of zero-tolerance policy for tardiness and unexcused absences
  • Candidates must complete a mandatory Pass/Fail EKG exam regardless of specialty
  • Candidates must review and sign facility-specific policies including floating policy and contractor equipment acknowledgment
  • Badge photo must meet strict facility requirements (no selfies, solid color background, business casual/uniform attire)
  • Orientation includes safety manual acknowledgment and pass/fail testing for EKG/medications
  • Prior travel experience is not required for this position
