Job Opportunity: Mammography Technologist (Travel/Contract)

Location: Omaha, Nebraska
Specialty: Radiology / Cardiology (Mammography Tech)
Contract Length: 13 weeks


Job Description

  • Work at a women’s center on main campus.
  • Shift: Monday through Friday, 7:30 AM – 4:00 PM.
  • No evenings or weekends required.
  • Candidates must be located more than 100 miles from the facility (no locals accepted).
  • Start dates booked 8 weeks out due to Nebraska state licensing processing time (6-8 weeks).
  • Proof of Nebraska state licensing application required before submission.

Required Experience & Skills

  • Minimum 1 year of prior mammography experience required.
  • Experience with screening, diagnostic mammography, stereotactic biopsies, needle localizations, fine needle aspirations, digital, and 3D mammography.
  • Experience with Hologic 3D machines required.
  • Epic charting experience preferred but not required.
  • First-time travelers accepted (prior travel experience NOT required).

Required Certifications & Licenses

  • Current BLS certification required.
  • ARRT Mammography (ARRT-M) certification required.
  • Nebraska state license required (must submit proof of application prior to consideration).

Additional Requirements

  • Government-issued photo ID required.
  • Background check within 30 days of start, including nationwide and federal enhanced searches.
  • SAM and OIG checks required within 30 days of start and ongoing monthly.
  • Education verification required.
  • Various health documents required including:
    • Physical exam within 1 year, updated annually.
    • Fit mask test within 1 year, updated annually.
    • Immunizations: Tdap, MMR (2 vaccines or positive titer), Hepatitis B titer, Varicella (2 vaccines or positive titer), annual flu vaccine documentation preferred.
    • Negative TB test or chest x-ray within 1 year, updated annually.
    • Drug screen within 60 days of start, updated annually.
  • Skills checklist and references required.
  • State-specific registry checks required within 30 days of start.

Summary

This is a travel contract opportunity for a Mammography Technologist with at least 1 year of mammography experience, including advanced procedures and 3D mammography. Candidates must have ARRT-M and BLS certifications and be licensed or in the process of obtaining a Nebraska state license. The position offers weekday day shifts with no weekends or evenings. Prior travel experience is not required, and first-time travelers are welcome.
