Job Opportunity: Pediatric OR Registered Nurse

Job Description

• Work schedule: 10-hour days with variable start times (06:45, 08:45, 10:45)
• Pediatric Registered Nurse role in an operating room setting
• Must be able to independently circulate in at least 3 of the following services:

  • General Surgery
  • Neurology
  • Orthopedics/Spine
  • Otolaryngology/Airway
  • Genitourinary (GU)
  • Plastics
  • Ophthalmology
  • Cardiac

Requirements

• Licenses & Certifications:

  • California RN License
  • AHA BLS (Basic Life Support)
  • ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support)
  • PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support)

• Experience:

  • Minimum 2 years of pediatric nursing experience (highest required years of experience)

• Preferred Qualifications:

  • CNOR certification
  • Proficient in scrubbing
  • Experience in a Level 1 Trauma hospital

Compliance & Documentation

• Valid government-issued photo ID matching professional license
• Background checks including 7-year criminal history, nationwide and specific county checks
• Education verification or copy of diploma/transcript
• Primary source verification of state license within 30 days of start
• Drug testing (standard 9 panel excluding THC) within 30 days of start, re-run every 2 years
• Physical exam within 1 year of start including physician statement of fitness to work
• Fit mask test within 1 year of start (specific mask types required), annual update required
• Immunizations and titers required:

  • Tetanus/Diphtheria/Tdap (within 10 years, no declinations accepted)
  • Negative TB tests (2 required, with specific timing and documentation)
  • Rubeola (Measles), Mumps, Rubella (IGG titer or 2 vaccines)
  • Hepatitis B (titer, series, or declination)
  • Varicella (IGG titer or 2 vaccines, history of disease not accepted)
  • Flu seasonal vaccination or facility-specific declination (required during flu season)
  • COVID-19 vaccination and booster requirements, or approved exemptions

Testing & Competencies

• Pass/fail Telemetry and Medication tests required on first day with up to 3 retake attempts
• Unit-specific competency exams and core clinical modules with passing scores of 80% or higher
• Annual cybersecurity awareness training and HIPAA healthcare provider modules (for clinical staff)

Additional Notes

• Two supervisory references required, preferably from the most recent employment
• Resume with last 7 years of work history required; gaps of 30+ days must be explained
• Skills checklist and work history verification required
• Various facility-specific documents and training modules must be completed prior to or shortly after start date
• COVID-19 religious and medical exemption processes available with specific documentation and timelines
