Job Opportunity: Registered Nurse (ER) - Travel/Contract

Location: Chicago, Illinois
Contract Length: 13 weeks

Position Details

Specialty: Registered Nurse, Emergency Room (ER)
Shift: 3 shifts per week, 12 hours each (7:00 PM - 7:30 AM)
Weekend Requirement: Every other weekend (2 weekends per month)
Call Requirements: None
Return to Office (RTO): Up to 5 days max, no more than 2 consecutive days; no RTO on holidays, weekends, or the day before/after a holiday
Floating: Mandatory float within scope as needed by the facility
Guaranteed Hours: 36 hours per week

Required Experience & Qualifications

Experience: Minimum 2 years of recent acute care experience in Emergency Department (ED)
Certifications Required:
- BLS (Basic Life Support)
- ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support)
- NIHSS (NIH Stroke Scale Certification)
- PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support) – Preferred
License: Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license for Illinois (pending licenses not accepted)
Local Candidates: Accepted and preferred; must live within 75 miles of the facility
Prior Travel Experience: Not explicitly required

Required Documentation & Compliance

Government-issued photo ID (driver’s license or state ID)
Background check within 12 months covering all locations lived/worked/schooled in past 7 years
EPLS/GSA/SAM and HHS/OIG checks within 30 days of start
Physical exam within 12 months, signed by PA, NP, DO, or MD
Fit mask test (N95 or equivalent) within 1 year, required annually
Immunizations and health screenings including:
- Tdap vaccine within 10 years or signed declination
- Negative TB test (QGold or TSPOT) within 12 months, updated annually
- MMR (Measles, Mumps, Rubella) vaccination or positive titer
- Hepatitis B series, titer, or signed declination
- Varicella vaccination or positive titer
Drug screening: Negative 9-panel drug screen within 90 days of start, updated annually
Seasonal flu vaccination or approved medical/religious exemption required during flu season (Oct 1 - Apr 1)
Competency exams and medication/pharmacology tests as required
Facility-specific forms and rules of behavior must be completed

Additional Notes

This is a mandatory float position; flexibility to work in different units within scope is required
No block scheduling available
No call or holiday time off allowed
Locals preferred but travel candidates accepted
