Job Opportunity: Pediatric ER Registered Nurse
Location: San Diego, California

Contract Length: 13 weeks
Job Summary
Seeking a Pediatric ER Registered Nurse with recent pediatric emergency department or children's hospital experience. This is a travel contract position with variable 3x12 hour shifts and flexible scheduling options.
Required Qualifications
- Valid RN license in California
- Minimum 2 years of Pediatric ER (Emergency Room) experience, including experience within the last year
- One completed travel assignment
- Associate of Science in Nursing / Associate Degree in Nursing
- BLS (Basic Life Support) issued by American Heart Association
- PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support) issued by American Heart Association
- Experience working with pediatric patients
- Triage experience
- IV start experience
- Conscious sedation experience
Shift Details
- 3 shifts per week, 12 hours each (3x12s)
- Variable shifts across 7 different shift times (e.g., 12/14, 7/9, 14/16, 16/19)
- Travelers will not be scheduled for a day shift followed by a night shift
- Block scheduling accommodation available
Additional Requirements & Compliance
- Valid photo ID (front and back) required on first day
- Background checks including criminal, education verification, and others must be completed within 30 days of start
- Medication calculation test (100% passing score) required prior to start
- Pediatric Pharmacology exam required (minimum 80% score)
- Annual competency exams and core training parts I, II, III required
- Physical exam within 1 year of start, confirming good health without restrictions
- Fit testing for N95 masks within 1 year of start
- Required immunizations and health screenings:
- Tdap vaccine within 10 years (declinations not accepted)
- Negative TB test or chest X-ray within 6 months
- Drug screening within 30 days of start
- Flu vaccine required during flu season (declinations not accepted)
- Proof of immunity or vaccination for Measles, Mumps, Rubella, Varicella, and Hepatitis B
- Badge photo submission required prior to start (photo specifications apply)
- Multiple facility-specific documents and acknowledgments must be signed prior to start (e.g., confidentiality, code of conduct, professional accountability)
- Two supervisory references verified within 1 year of start from clinical leadership (director, supervisor, or manager)
