Job Opportunity: Radiology / Cardiology Travel/Contract Position

Location: Baton Rouge, Louisiana

Job Description & Requirements

  • Work Environment:

    • Position is in an area commonly impacted by hurricanes.
    • Hurricane season runs June 1 - November 30, but storms can occur outside this window.
    • Upon starting, you may be assigned to an "Emergency Team" with expectations to stay onsite during storms or be part of relief efforts.
    • Candidates uncomfortable with this requirement should not apply during hurricane season.
  • Shift:

    • Standard hours: 8:00 AM – 4:30 PM.
    • Flexibility required for earlier or later procedures as needed.
  • On-Call & Weekend Requirements:

    • Call schedule divided equally among team members.
    • Typically includes two nights per week and every other weekend.
    • On-call from close of business Friday until department opens Monday morning.
    • Must be able to arrive within 30 minutes of notification.
  • Floating:

    • May be asked to assist between Interventional Radiology (IR) and Cardiac Cath Lab as needed.
  • Requirements/Qualifications:

    • Valid Cath Lab Technologist license in Louisiana
    • Cath Lab Technologist with at least 1 year of experience
    • Cath Lab Technologist experience within the last year
    • One completed travel assignment
    • ACLS - Advanced Cardiac Life Support issued by American Heart Association
    • BLS - Basic Life Support issued by American Heart Association
    • Interventional Radiology Technologist experience

Compliance & Documentation Requirements

  • Identification:

    • Current/valid Driver’s License or government photo ID (color copy required).
  • Background Checks:

    • 7-year criminal background check within 90 days of start, updated annually.
    • EPLS/GSA/SAM, HHS/OIG, Sex Offender Search, and Education Verification as applicable.
  • Certifications Verification:

    • Must verify all required certifications and licenses within 30 days of start.
    • Renewals must be completed prior to start if expiring within 30 days.
  • Health & Immunizations:

    • Physical exam within 12 months indicating good health.
    • Negative TB test or chest X-ray within 12 months, updated annually.
    • Required immunizations or proof of immunity:
      • Rubeola (Measles)
      • Mumps
      • Rubella
      • Hepatitis B
      • Varicella
    • Tdap vaccine required for select departments (ED, Pediatrics, Mother/Baby, NICU).
    • Seasonal flu vaccination or approved exemption required during flu season (Oct 1 - Apr 30).
  • Drug Testing:

    • Negative 10-panel drug screen within 60 days of start.
  • Additional Requirements:

    • Skills checklist updated annually.
    • Resume/application with 7 years employment history and explanation for gaps.
  • Facility-Specific:

    • Photo for badge: full color, passport-style, taken within last 6 months.
    • May require onsite fit testing for masks if not completed prior to start.
