Overview

Travel/contract role in New Haven, Connecticut
Outpatient oncology practice nurse role
No infusion at this clinic
Start date: ASAP
Shift: Day, 4x10 hours, 7:30 AM–5:00 PM
40 hours per week
May float between specialties
Guaranteed hours

Required Qualifications

Valid RN license in Connecticut
Associate of Science in Nursing / Associate Degree in Nursing
Ambulatory Care experience within the last year
2 years of Ambulatory Care experience
One completed travel assignment
NIHSS
Phone Triage experience
Oncology experience

Responsibilities

Manage and respond to patient messages through the electronic in-basket
Provide patient education related to oncology diagnoses, treatment plans, medications, and follow-up care
Perform phone triage and determine appropriate follow-up or escalation in the outpatient oncology clinic setting
Coordinate tests, referrals, appointments, and other aspects of the patient’s plan of care
Support clinic workflows for a designated outpatient oncology team
Collaborate with the multidisciplinary oncology team to maintain continuity of care
