MRI Technologist Position - Minneapolis, Minnesota

Job Summary

  • Perform magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) studies as ordered by physicians or providers following approved procedures.
  • Administer IV punctures and contrast as ordered.
  • Conduct exams with technical accuracy and timeliness, identifying anatomical orientation on all images.
  • Communicate pertinent data to care team members after examinations.
  • Consult with professional staff on interpretation of results.
  • Schedule patients for MRI exams.
  • Assist with quality assurance/quality improvement (QA/QI) of PACS system.
  • Ensure proper identification on all images and complete computer functions according to department policies.
  • Stay updated on new developments in MRI technology and practices.
  • Communicate effectively with clinicians, physicians, radiologists, technologists, and patients.
  • Provide patient-centered care, adjusting approaches based on patient developmental level.
  • Partner with patients/caregivers in care and decision-making.
  • Maintain a safe and secure environment.
  • Individualize care plans and modify clinical interventions based on patient population.
  • Provide patient education tailored to assessed learning needs.

Contract Length

  • 11 weeks

Required Skills & Experience

  • Minimum of 0.5 to 1.5 years (6 months) experience as an MRI Technologist (higher value used: 6 months).
  • Knowledge of basic nursing practices related to MRI, including emergency procedures, sterile practices, infection control techniques, and CPR.
  • Experience working in an academic or clinical setting.
  • Excellent problem-solving, communication, and critical thinking skills.
  • Strong customer service skills.
  • Adaptability and collaboration abilities.

Education Requirements

  • Associate of Applied Science (AAS) degree or equivalent hospital-based training program with certificate of completion.

Certifications & Licensure

  • Registered Technologist with ARRT certification as R.T. (R).
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification (American Heart Association or American Red Cross).
