EEG Technologist 1 - Inpatient

Job Description

• Cleans and disinfects EEG equipment following infection control policies.
• Performs all types of neurodiagnostic tests including bedside, electrical cerebral silence, and standard lab EEGs.
• Documents data accurately in patient charts and lab files.
• Explains tests and procedures to patients to ensure optimal results.
• Notifies Neuroscience physician for grossly abnormal EEG tracings.
• Prepares patients for examinations and provides age-appropriate instructions.
• Troubleshoots equipment and coordinates repair services as needed.

Education Requirements

• High School Diploma or GED.
• Graduate of a CAAHEP accredited EEG program (new graduates welcome) OR
• Minimum 2 years of hands-on EEG/EMU experience.

Certifications & Licensure

• American Board of Registration of EEG/EP Technologists (ABRET).
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association.
