Surgical Tech Position

Location

Louisville, Kentucky

Job Summary

Assist healthcare team during intra-operative period.
Prepare and handle surgical instruments and equipment.
Assist surgeon during surgical procedures.
Provide care based on patient age and needs (neonate through geriatric).
Apply aseptic technique and medical terminology knowledge.
Prioritize and problem-solve in dynamic surgical environments.
Recognize and respond immediately to urgent or emergency situations.

Responsibilities

Maintain aseptic technique to ensure positive patient outcomes.
Care for, prepare, handle, and maintain surgical instrumentation.
Perform sponge, sharps, and instrument counts according to policy.
Adhere to professional standards of practice.

Required Qualifications

Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) with a minimum of 2 years of experience, including experience within the last year.
Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
High school diploma or GED.
Proficient in surgical technology and instrumentation handling.
Knowledge and application of aseptic technique.

Work Schedule

Day shift: 6:00 AM – 4:30 PM (10 hours/day).
40 hours per week.
On-call two nights per week and every 5th weekend.
