Radiologic Technologist - Computed Tomography
Location
- Detroit, Michigan
Job Summary
- Perform computerized tomographic (CT) radiological procedures under general supervision.
- May perform general diagnostic radiology examinations.
- Prepare patients and explain examination procedures.
- Review clinical data and patient medical history as needed.
- Set up and operate CT equipment, including manual control to obtain diagnostic images.
- Administer intravenous contrast media using power injectors and monitor patients for reactions.
- Assist Radiologist with complex sterile diagnostic procedures such as biopsies.
- Apply radiation protection principles (shielding, dose reduction, ALARA techniques).
- Manage imaging quality and documentation in PACS and RIS systems.
- Complete all required clinical and billing documentation.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum of 2 years of experience as a CT Technologist, including experience within the last year.
- Registered with the American Registry of Radiologic Technology (ARRT) with advanced registry in Computed Tomography (CT).
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
- Possession of a high school diploma or GED equivalent.
- Proficient in CT scan operation.
- Skilled in intravenous contrast media administration.
- Experienced in PACS image management.
Work Schedule
- Full-time, 40 hours per week.
- Shifts available:
- Days: 7:00 AM – 6:00 PM
- Afternoons: 3:00 PM – flexible (e.g., 3:00 PM – 10:30 PM or 3:00 PM – 3:00 AM)
- Midnights: 6:00 PM – 6:00 AM
- Weekend coverage required every other weekend.
- No on-call or block scheduling.
Physical Demands and Working Conditions
- May work in hospital fixed units or ambulatory mobile units.
- Potential exposure to radiation and high-voltage equipment; proper precautions required.
- Possible exposure to contagious patients.
- Occasional lifting/moving of equipment or patients over 10 lbs.
Contract Length
- 13 weeks
This position requires a CT-certified Radiologic Technologist with solid clinical experience, strong patient care and communication skills, and flexibility to work varied shifts including weekends.
