Job Summary

Provides direct patient care to an assigned group of patients during a shift using the nursing process. Ensures safe, effective, patient-centered, timely, efficient, and equitable care. Coordinates patient care through collaboration with patients, families, and the healthcare team. Administers medications and treatments as prescribed and documents accordingly. Supervises LPNs and non-licensed assistive personnel.

Responsibilities

• Assess, plan, implement, evaluate, and document individual patient needs and responses.
• Initiate and document appropriate protocols and standards of care.
• Identify and meet patient and family learning and discharge needs throughout care.
• Float between departments and/or local locations within 20 miles as needed.

Required Qualifications

• Current RN license for Progressive Care Unit (PCU) nursing.
• Minimum 2 years of recent experience in an 18+ bed telemetry/progressive care unit.
• Must have successfully completed at least one 13-week travel nursing assignment (prior travel experience required).
• Must pass a Basic Cardiac Arrhythmia (BCA) test onsite before starting the assignment; one retest allowed, failure after second attempt results in contract cancellation.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and be a flexible team player.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with Epic Electronic Medical Records (EMR).
